IMPACT OF THE RECENT FINANCIAL CRISIS ON TRADE,
FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT AND LOGISTICS
East Asian and European Experiences
Goal and Topics
This conference will be devoted to discussing theoretical and applied research work on current issues of global trade, investment and logistics. On these topics, the aim will be to raise debates at two complementary levels: global economy and public policies. A specific attention will be given to the impact of the recent financial crisis and economic recession on global trade and global corporate organizations (especially, supply chain management and transportation organization). Contributions to the understanding of national, regional and global policies in the field of trade, investment and logistics will be most welcome. Empirical evidence should be drawn from East Asian or European experiences. Case studies bringing comparative material between these two areas will be appreciated.

The conference is jointly organized by Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches en économiE et gestioN logistiquE (University of Le Havre, France) and Institute of Business and Economic Research (Inha University, Korea). The University of Le Havre and Inha University are members of this multilateral academic cooperation network (Global U7 Consortium) which was launched in 2004.
Paper Submissions
Economists are invited to submit papers for presentation in the conference. Papers, either theoretical or empirical, are welcome. The deadline for submitting a paper (or an extended abstract with at least 300 words) is April 30, 2009. Please send your submission to Doctor Nathalie Aminian:

The selection committee, coordinated by Dr. Nathalie Aminian and Arnaud Le Marchand (local committee chair), and Prof. Joung-Young LEE will convey the final decision to the authors by May 30, 2009. Final versions of selected papers should be sent before September 15, 2009.

Conference Venue
The conference will be held at the University of Le Havre, France. The conference budget will cover expenses of the stay (up to three nights) for all those intervening during the conference period. All participants have to register: 80€ for Academics; 40€ for Graduate students, with proof of their student status.
