Our organization

The university community: Université Le Havre Normandie brings together a university community of nearly 10,000 people, made up of lecturers and researchers, researchers, teachers, students and BIATSS staff — library, engineering, administrative, technical, service and health staff.

The missions of Université Le Havre Normandie: The six public service missions of higher education are governed by Article L123-3 of the French Education Code. The missions of Université Le Havre Normandie are therefore as follows:

• Initial and continuing education throughout life;
• Scientific and technological research, and the dissemination and promotion of its results for the benefit of society;
• Guidance, social advancement and professional integration;
• The dissemination of humanist culture, in particular through the development of humanities and social sciences, as well as scientific, technical and industrial culture;
• Participation in the construction of the European Higher Education and Research Area;
• International cooperation.

The university’s organisation: Université Le Havre Normandie is led by a President elected from within its Board of Directors. The University President works on a daily basis in collaboration with a presidential team and with all the institution’s governance bodies, components, laboratories and administrative services.
