Updated on: 08/12/2023The Preventive Medicine Service at the ULHN (service de Médecine Préventive)
It offers an open reception desk, gives advice and provides medical care for the whole university community.
It takes care of :
- the compulsory medical examination of first year students ;
- medical examination of (student-) athletes on appointment ;
- assistance and integration of disabled or chronically sick students in collaboration with the Student Disability Service (service handicap) ;
first aid care ; - administration of prescribed medication.
It offers :
- free psychological support on appointment ;
- free dietetic counselling on appointment ;
- referral to general practitioners, experts or specialized services ;
- a free vaccination service.
Student Disability Service (service handicap)
The Student Disability Service at the ULHN, in collaboration with the Preventive Medicine Service, assists all students with disabilities by responding to their individual needs.
Accessibility and technical support
The urban area and public transport system of Le Havre are adapted to the needs of disabled people. The university campus offers an accessible living and studying environment (classrooms, library, cultural service, sports service, university restaurants, residence halls).
Personal assistance
Two receptionists and several student tutors are available to assist disabled students in their everyday life: they accompany the students to classes and exams, help them move around on campus, etc.
Organisation of studies
The Student Disability Service puts into place any special assistance needed in order to take part in classes and exams. The Preventive Medicine Service makes a suggestion after medical examination of the student.
Sports
The sports service of the university, in collaboration with the «clubs handisports», offers sports activities for disabled students: swimming, basketball, athletics, …
