From the town centre to the beach, the city was destroyed by the bombing in 1944. Auguste Perret, an architect, was then commissioned to rebuild this part of the city. It is this rebuilt 150-hectare area that has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. The rebuilt centre forms the administrative, commercial and cultural centre of Le Havre.
The ULHN was established in 1984 and it now counts over 8200 students. It is committed to supporting personal and professional development of all its students.
The ULHN has very particular characteristics. Indeed, since its creation, student success has always been at the heart of its concerns. Beyond the course chosen by the student, it is involved in providing a good environment and a personalised pedagogic support. The commitment of the university to ensure the success of the students and to facilitate their professional integration is recognised by the government who identified it as « a model university ».
A new country, that’s also a new culture! A culture you will be able to discover thanks to the numerous events organized by the cultural service of Université Le Havre Normandie.
