On Friday, September 4, the University of Le Havre Normandy welcomed its new international students during a morning event focused on camaraderie, discovery, and cultural exchange.
Coming from a variety of backgrounds—including Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Colombia, and many other countries— the students had the opportunity to get to know one another over breakfast and talk with Éloïse Maget, head of the host program and the FLE program, as well as with the team from the Office of International Relations (DRI).
The morning continued with a cultural tour and an exploration of Le Havre, giving the students a better understanding of their new city and their university environment.
This meeting also provided an opportunity to introduce them to the various measures put in place to facilitate their arrival, settlement, and integration at the University of Le Havre Normandy.
Welcome Packs to help them get off to a good start on their stay
To support international students from the moment they arrive, the Office of International Relations, in collaboration with the FED’LH association, has also created a Welcome Pack, which is completely free.
This package includes bed linens, towels, dishes, kitchen utensils, and personal care products—a wide range of essentials to help students settle into their new housing. Students may keep all the items in the package.
An initiative that helps give them a warm welcome and makes their first steps in Le Havre easier!
