Providing the best conditions to study, develop and build your future

Updated on: 10/06/2026

At the Université Le Havre Normandie, student success is not limited to academic learning. It is also based on the quality of life on campus, access to appropriate services, cultural openness, civic involvement and the opportunity for everyone to find their place within the Le Havre university community.

The Student Life Master Plan (SDVE) 2026-2029 is part of this ambition. The result of extensive consultation with students, associations, university departments and local partners, this document sets out the major directions that will guide the school’s actions over the coming years.

One ambition: to support students at every stage of their studies

The Université Le Havre Normandie welcomes nearly 7,000 students, including 15% international students from over 80 countries. At a time when the issues of precariousness, health, inclusion and commitment are playing an increasingly important role in student life, the university is reaffirming its commitment to offering everyone the best possible conditions for studying, developing and building their future.

The SDVE 2026-2029 is fully in line with the establishment’s major transformation projects, notably the EUNICoast European alliance, the PolyCampus Le Havre 2030 project and the Contrat de site 2022-2027. Together, they are helping to build a campus that is ever more open, innovative, inclusive and connected to its local area.

Three strategic priorities to enhance the student experience

Making the student experience a lever for well-being and emancipation

The university wants to support students well beyond the classroom. The student experience must begin even before entering higher education and continue after graduation.

Building a more inclusive and supportive university

Equal opportunity and the fight against all forms of discrimination are key priorities for the school.

Strengthening student democracy and engagement

Because students are the first to be affected by student life policies, the Université Le Havre Normandie wants to give them an increasingly important role in the discussions and decisions that shape their daily lives.

A collective commitment for the years to come

Through the Schéma Directeur de la Vie Étudiante 2026-2029 (Student Life Master Plan 2026-2029), the Université Le Havre Normandie affirms its determination to build a living and studying environment that is ever more conducive to the success, well-being and fulfillment of its students.

Conceived with students and for students, this document is an ambitious roadmap that will guide the school’s actions over the next few years to make the student experience at ULHN an enriching, inclusive one, open to the world and full of promise for the future.
