Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Whether you are a student or a member of staff, Université Le Havre Normandie is committed to protecting your personal data.

The university uses the personal data of staff and students to carry out its public service missions (administrative management, remuneration, training, registration, student monitoring, timetabling, etc.). This data is also legally collected for explicit information and communication purposes for a given period of time.

How is my data protected?

  • The university appoints a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who is involved in all matters relating to the protection of personal data. His or her role is to inform, train and advise the institution, which is responsible for processing personal data.
  • The General Data Protection Regulation RGPD provides a framework for the processing of personal data. This regulation ensures transparency, trust and responsibility between the university, its users, partners and supervisory authorities. (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation.)
  • The French Data Protection Act (Loi relative à l’informatique, aux fichiers et aux libertés) governs the free processing of personal data. (Law no. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 on data processing, data files and individual liberties).
