Roadmap for Open Science

Download

Université Le Havre Normandie fully embraces the values of Open Science, promoting open access, sharing and transparency of scientific research results. It is aligned with the strategy of the National Plan for Open Science, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in 2018 and renewed in 2021. Accordingly, Université Le Havre Normandie is actively committed to:

  • Open access to scientific publications: so that research results are accessible to as many people as possible.
  • The structuring and opening of research data: to promote sharing, transparency and research reproducibility.
  • The transformation of practices to make open science the default principle.

This commitment is reflected in the implementation of concrete actions. As a signatory of the Barcelona Declaration, Université Le Havre Normandie is firmly committed to the open dissemination of knowledge. In May 2023, the University’s Research Committee adopted a Charter for Open Science, accompanied by a detailed roadmap. This initiative is based on several key actions:

  • Encouraging its researchers to prioritise publications that are natively open access and to deposit their publications, together with the full text, in the HAL open archives.
  • Supporting the proper management of research data. To this end, it has opened a dedicated deposit space in Recherche Data Gouv to enable the description and dissemination of its researchers’ data.
  • Offering its researchers a single point of contact to help them prepare their data management plans and advise them on the choice of a repository: donnees-recherche@univ-lehavre.fr
  • Participating in the Data Workshop in Normandy initiative led by COMUE Normandie Université, by offering training for research stakeholders.
  • Encouraging bibliodiversity.
  • Strengthening citizen science initiatives.
