Le Havre Normandie University’s international policy is all about discovering new horizons, enriching one’s career with new teaching methods, opening up to new collaborations and encouraging the development of innovative research.
The internationalization of the university’s students’ careers is mainly achieved through study stays and internships in Europe or around the world, as well as language assistant placements and participation in summer schools or language courses abroad. Encouraged by a range of courses, most of which have an international dimension, several hundred of the university’s students each year choose to enrich their studies with an international experience.
Another focus of the school’s international relations is the hosting of foreign students who choose to spend a few months or several years at Le Havre Normandie University. The school welcomes over 1,600 international students, who benefit from a range of specialized courses taught in English, as well as French as a foreign language courses, on a multicultural campus where over 85 nationalities are represented.
In addition to its numerous bilateral agreements and conventions, which give it a global presence on all five continents, networked cooperation is a key part of the university’s strategy. The university’s research laboratories and lecturers are involved in numerous scientific cooperation networks with foreign partners, such as the UNESCO-recognized UNITWIN “Digital Campus for Complex Systems” program. This desire to open up to the world is also encouraged for young researchers, with initiatives to promote the mobility of doctoral students, some of whose work is recognized by a European doctorate.
This “World Campus” is the result of the reconciliation of all the ambitions linked to the internationalization of Le Havre Normandie University, and today makes the establishment’s territorial roots a major asset. This strategy promotes the attractiveness and development of the Le Havre region, making Le Havre Normandie one of its best ambassadors.
