Disability Support Service supports students with disabilities throughout their studies at the Université Le Havre Le Havre Normandie, to enable them to pursue their their studies in the best possible conditions, even their health.

The missions of Disability Support Service

The Disability Service assists ULHN students with the following missions:

  • Implementation of the Plan d’Accompagnement de l’Étudiant en Situation de Handicap (PAESH).
  • Assistance with administrative formalities and student life, including requests for exam accommodations (via medical check-ups), access to university accommodation, enrolment, transport, cultural and sporting activities.
  • Organization of studies in consultation with teaching teams, to guarantee appropriate learning conditions.
  • Support for educational accessibility at all university sites, including the adaptation of teaching spaces, course materials and digital tools.
  • Setting up individualized tutoring systems, such as note-taking, methodological support or academic success coaching. These services are provided by student tutors specially recruited and trained to support their peers throughout their studies at the university.
  • Leading and coordinating a network of local disability correspondents, enabling regular monitoring and high-quality support for students with disabilities.
  • Help with the creation of a file for the Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées (MDPH), including the application for the Reconnaissance de la Qualité de Travailleur Handicapé (RQTH), to facilitate access to employment for students with disabilities.
  • Support in the search for internships, work-study contracts, student jobs and seasonal employment, with a view to independence and professional integration.

All Service Handicap missions are carried out within a strict confidentiality framework, guaranteeing the discretion of exchanges between students and members of the service.

  • Atypie Friendly*: national program to make higher education inclusive for people with neurodevelopmental disorders
  • CROUS Normandie: scholarships, accommodation, catering
  • LiA / MobiFil: adapted transport services
  • Associations in the Le Havre basin (Louis Delamare, Bouchon 276, etc.)
  • Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community
  • City of Le Havre
  • ULHN preventive medicine service
  • ULNH social worker: financial, administrative, food, health or housing difficulties
