IT support is provided by the university’s Information Systems Department (DSI).
For any incident :
- Staff: log on to ENT, then in the “Support” menu, “Service request”, “Add a ticket” and enter your request, which will be automatically forwarded to members of the ISD.
- Students: please contact the secretariat of your component, department or laboratory, who will make the request on your behalf.

At the Université Le Havre Normandie, you can access a number of personal and digital areas: your personal account, the ENT, online courses and online messaging.
Your computer account (login and password)
What is your computer account for?
Your account allows you to log in and use the Université Le Havre Normandie’s IT resources:
- on computers in classrooms, self-service rooms and the University Library
- to access the university’s wireless networks (Wi-Fi)
- to connect to the EUREKA learning platform
- to access your university e-mail account
- to access the Digital Workspace: ENT
Important information about your account
If you are registered with the Université Le Havre Normandie, you automatically have an account in the university directory. To use your account, you must activate and change your password in the directory.
Your authentication parameters (login and password) are strictly personal and confidential. You are responsible for any infringement by a third party using this authentication. Do not hesitate to change your password.
We would like to draw your attention to the need to close your session and browser after a work session.
Any problems or incidents relating to your authentication account should be reported to the IT Resource Center(IRC).
How can I find out about your account?
Your connection parameters (login / initial password) will be sent to your personal e-mail address as soon as your administrative registration has been validated.
How do I activate my account and change my password?
The password for your university IT account can be changed on your personal page in the university’s centralized directory.
This form is accessible via ENT.
In the ENT menu, click on :

Digital workspace (ENT)
This Digital Workspace (Espace Numérique de Travail – ENT) gives you permanent access to the services available to you via a web browser: from your home, from the university network or from any other Internet access point.
This ENT is accessible in personalized mode once you have logged in, and is designed to facilitate access to your information related to your training and your status as a student or staff member.

Eureka: your online courses
The “Eureka” teaching platform (Moodle LMS) offers the following possibilities:
- put teaching resources online: programs, bibliographies, course materials or supplements, collaborative work areas, etc.
- deposit / consult these resources via the Internet wherever and whenever you want.
- Collect student assignments.
- Direct or ENT access to Eureka is reserved for staff and students of the Université Le Havre Normandie and requires prior authentication: login and password for your computer account.

About your mailbox
- This is an important service: at this address, you will receive messages from your component, your teachers, the cultural service, the BU, the SUAPS… via mailing lists to which you are automatically subscribed as a university student.
- You can use webmail to access your mailbox via the web.
- You can configure an e-mail client.
- Your connection settings are those of your computer account.
- Your dedicated email storage space is 50MB.
How do I find out your e-mail address?
- If you are registered with the Université Le Havre Normandie, you automatically have an e-mail address.
- Your address is indicated on the ” computer resources ” section of your registration form.
- Your e-mail address is: prenom.nom@etu.univ-lehavre.fr
- (without accent and without ” ‘ “, a space in a name is replaced by a hyphen “-“, compound first names are separated by a hyphen “-“)
For students registering for the first time at the Université Le Havre Normandie:
- When you register, you need to consult the Espace Numérique de Travail (ENT) to find out your university e-mail address and validate your computer account.
- Log on to ENT, then in the “Personal information” menu, “My profile”.
- Your university e-mail address is available the day after your administrative registration.
How do you check your e-mail over the Internet?
To consult your e-mails from the Internet, use webmail :
(In the case of webmail, you don’t need to install any e-mail software on your computer – all you need is an Internet connection and a web browser).
Webmail is accessible :
- From the ENT in the “communications” menu => “My mailbox”.
- Direct access via webmail.
How do I configure my email client?
An e-mail client is software installed on your computer. It lets you use your e-mail without going through webmail. Example of an e-mail client: Thunderbird. To use an e-mail client, you need to configure it.
To configure your e-mail client, you need to know the following parameters:
- Your e-mail address: yyyy.xxxxccc@univ-lehavre.fr (example)
- Your xycccccc e-mail account (example)
- Your e-mail password xyz812 ! (example)
- The address of the receiving server (= IMAP incoming mail) mail.univ-lehavre.fr (or imap.univ-lehavre.fr). You’ll need to use SSL/TLS (port 993) or STARTTLS (port 143) to connect to the IMAP incoming mail server.
- The address of the sending server (= SMTP outgoing mail) smtp.univ-lehavre.fr . In the connection parameters for the outgoing server, you’ll also need to specify the use of“STARTTLS” for “Connection security” and the choice of “ Normal password ” for the authentication method.
ATTENTION: If you are at home, configure the University Le Havre Normandie’s SMTP on port: 587
Université Le Havre Normandie’s IT resource center recommends using Thunderbird as an e-mail client.
Webmail - How to personalize your signature
To personalize your signature (last name, first name, position, school, telephone, etc. at the end of an e-mail), follow these instructions in the university webmail:
- Connect to the university’s webmail and log in.
- (1) in the horizontal navigation bar at the top of the web page, click on“Preferences“.
A pop-up window opens:
- (2) on the page, click on the ” IMAP accounts ” tab
- (3) click on link
- fill in the form, then click on the“OK“ button
- (4) Click on“Save and close“.
- Check your signature etc. by sending an e-mail to your own address
