Ce jeudi 16 juillet, le Laboratoire de Mathématique Appliqués du Havre (LMAH) accueille Hao Kang de Tianjin University, pour un exposé intitulé :
Effects of age structure on the dynamics of reaction diffusion equations
Résumé :
We study the role of age structure in determining the dynamics of reaction-diffusion equations. More precisely, by comparing principal eigenvalues between a diffusion operator with age structure and another one without age structure, we find that the former one is more complicated than the latter one and there even does not exist a definitive relation between them in the limiting sense with respect to the diffusion rate. Next we apply the above findings to a monostable diffusive age-structured equation and investigate the threshold dynamics and propagation dynamics. The obtained results will explain how age structure affects the dynamics nontrivially.
