M.U.R.
Updated on: 10/06/2026
Founded in March 2003, the association le M.U.R. (Modulable, Urbain, Réactif) is committed to promoting urban art by offering spaces dedicated to street-art. Among these venues, the 52nd M.U.R., located in the gardens of the Lebon site of the University of Le Havre Normandie, regularly welcomes new creations.
The first artist to leave his mark was Sckaro, an artist from Le Havre known for his large-scale murals. Since then, other talents such as Seb Toussaint, Carole B and Missy have been invited to express themselves on this medium.
Why M.U.R.?
The University of Le Havre Normandie, dynamic and committed to promoting local culture, has joined this initiative dedicated to street-art. It offers students and curious visitors the opportunity to discover artists and a variety of universes at the heart of urban art.

Le M.U.R. x Quentin DMR
February 2026
Le Havre-based artist Quentin DMR took over the M.U.R. with a creation combining photography and visual arts.
Using fragments of photographs, mainly from black-and-white portraits, he composes works that embody the urban spaces he occupies and breathe new life into them.
His experiments invite viewers to actively participate in the recomposition of the image, questioning visual language and the meaning each person projects onto traces of reality.
Le M.U.R. x Bana Naskit
October 2025
Université Le Havre Normandie invites artist Bana Naskit to take over the M.U.R. at the Lebon site with a sensitive and spontaneous work centred on improvised linework.
Le M.U.R. x Missy
February 2025 This Strasbourg-based artist took over the university’s M.U.R. by creating a work inspired by nature and lush vegetation.
Her distinctive style? She uses vibrant colours and organic shapes to create murals and illustrations filled with poetry and dreamlike imagery, inviting viewers to escape into an imaginary world.
M.U.R. x Binokl
December 2024 Binokl, a Normandy-based artist, draws his inspiration from urban cultures. Known for his black Posca universe, filling empty spaces with small or large repeated shapes, he discovered studio work a few years ago, allowing him to express himself differently, without constraints. Between complexity and minimalism, he intuitively moves towards other, more abstract “binokleries”. This is the case with this proposal for the fourth M.U.R.
Binokl presents a colourful abstract landscape, while also paying tribute to the 40th anniversary of Université Le Havre Normandie.
Le M.U.R. x Carole B
February 2024
Carole B. is a stencil and paper artist. She mischievously explores current events and the codes and subjects of popular culture, drawing viewers into a glamorous world tinged with humor, with a subtle blend of strength and gentleness, femininity and feminism.
For the University’s M.U.R., she proposes to revisit the old 100-franc banknote, featuring two literary figures: Annie Ernaux and Marie Aude Murail.
Annie Ernaux and Marie Aude Murail are both from Normandy, one born in Lillebonne, the other in Le Havre. Both women writers of the 20th and 21st centuries, they embody a literature of commitment, social feminism and emancipation.
M.U.R. x Seb Toussaint
September 2023
With this fresco, the artist pays homage to Impressionism by referring to 13 paintings from this artistic movement that originated and drew inspiration from the Normandy region. In an extremely simplified manner, almost like pictograms, works by Monet, Boudin, Pissaro and Renoir are articulated around a curve running from top left to bottom right, representing the Seine, from its estuary to Paris.
Le M.U.R. x Sckaro
April 2023
With this fresco, Sckaro has given the campus gardens a new perspective and light to escape to. Straddling the border between figuration and abstraction, the work blends nature and architecture. The orange and beige colors recall the tones of the University’s bricks, and the touches of gray and black plunge us into the concrete architecture of Auguste Perret. Volcan, a landmark in Le Havre, is set in a rocky landscape.
