Open Archives of Scientific Publications (HAL)

Updated on: 10/06/2026

The result of a national and regional initiative, the Hal-Unilehavre open archive collection is supported, at the request of the research commission, by the University Library, which is responsible for coordinating the registration of researchers’ repositories and providing them with mediation and assistance.

Developed at the University of Le Havre Normandie with the support of Normandie Université, the HAL collection of the University of Le Havre Normandie presents full-text and bibliographic record repositories, providing a panorama of research at the University of Le Havre Normandie.

These publications can be consulted on the Hal-Normandie open archives portal in the Hal-Unilehavre collection and in the HAL collections of the laboratories attached to the university. Each laboratory has appointed a collection manager to promote its publications.

The University of Le Havre Normandie is involved in the Normandie Université project, which brings together all the institutions in Normandy under the authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. Project members have signed a joint charter for the signature of scientific publications.

The HAL-Normandie open archive portal officially opened in November 2017 brings together the publications of all Normandie Université research units, and all the collections of institutions (UniCaen, UniRouen, Insa…) and attached laboratories.
